The Non-Discrimination Act is amended in many ways
The government has submitted a bill with proposals for a law amending the Non-Discrimination Act. According to the bill, the Non-discrimination ombudsman must have the authority to monitor compliance with the law also in working life. In addition, equal treatment planning and the promotion of equal treatment must be extended to also apply to organizers of early childhood education and the definition of harassment changed so that harassment can be directed at both individuals and groups of people. The Non-Discrimination and Equality Board would be able to recommend compensation to the victim of discrimination.
The Non-Discrimination Ombudsman believes that all these changes promote equal treatment and improve intervention in discrimination.
