Outsider Art Festival chosen as flagship project by the Finnish Cultural Foundation

The Finnish Cultural Foundation has chosen Pertti’s Choice / Outsider Art Festival as one of this year’s flagship projects. Taidetta yhdessä special grants aim to promote involvement, a sense of community, and cultural equality, as well as to better the quality of life for those, who are in a vulnerable state, through the use of high-quality art and culture.
A flagship grant was awarded to two projects, in which people with disabilities or other special groups are creating art and in which the aim is to support special groups' inclusion as well as to improve their employment. Pertti’s Choice received 20 000 € for organizing the visual arts program of the Outsider Art Festival. Riina Hannuksela and her workgroup received 20 000 Euros to produce a dance movie trilogy. The team consists of for example the disability dance company Ihanat, and filmmaker Kati Kallio. Congratulations to all the makers!
