“This year's Lonely in the Rain festival offers a perspective on the world that is not based on the male gaze.
For centuries, man has been the norm through which the lives of other genders have also been viewed. I feel that the equality debate has still not gone through, and women's issues have not been fully addressed in arts. It is still necessary to consciously make room for different gender experiences, break stereotypes and make structural inequalities visible. Hopefully, in the future, gender will not limit anyone, and everyone will be able to express their gender without narrow norms or prejudices. I believe that art can play an important part in this development.”
