Kaarisilta Biennale 2023
The Kaarisilta Biennale will take place again next summer The Kaarisilta Biennale art event will take place in the summer of 2023 for the sixth time. The Kaarisilta Biennale exhibition is on display in the surroundings of the Ersta manor in Villähde, Lahti, and at Galleria Art Kaarisilta in Helsinki from 17 June to 30 July 2023. The outdoor part of the exhibition is open until the end of September.
Theme
The theme of the 2023 Kaarisilta Biennale is Love, a word so big and multi-meaning. Kaarisilta Biennale 2023 challenges artists to reflect on the essence of love and its manifestations, their own relationship with love. However, the theme of the biennale is as open and voluntary as possible. You can ignore it and focus on your own artistic work. All kinds of works can be offered to the Kaarisilta Biennale.
How to apply
There is an open application for the Kaarisilta Biennale exhibition. The application period for the exhibition is 1.2.-12.3.23. An artist or a working group can participate in the Biennale with a maximum of three works or sets of works that have been realized in the last five years. The size and method of making the works are free. The courtyard of the manor also provides a great setting for environmental art. This year, the application is made using an electronic form. We will post more detailed information to the Kaarisilta Biennale website closer to the search.
Award and exhibition
Among the artists who participated in the exhibition, 1-3 honorable mentions and the Kaarisilta Biennale award will be awarded, which enables the art exhibition to be held in the Art Kaarisilta gallery in Helsinki. Right now, the gallery is showing an exhibition by the winner of the last Biennale, Snurretoppen. The award exhibition is open until 13.11.2022. Welcome!
