Government bill on Accessibility Library Celia

The government bill proposes legislation on Accessibility Library Celia, which would replace the old act on The library for the visually impaired. 

The library would still belong to the administrative sector of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The name of the library would be changed to Accessibility Library Celia. The main task of the library wold still be the production and development of library services of the people with visual impairments and other reading barriers. The expert assignment of the library would be specified as the expert of accessible library services and publishing in Finland. The legislation would include the cooperation with other libraries and partners.

The new legislation would come in force on 1.1.2023.
