The Aine Art Museum and Culture for All are looking for a producer
Culture for All has launched a two-year project Making space for artistry - equality for disabled artists and artists who are Sign Language users. As part of the project, in collaboration with the Aine Art Museum we will organize artist residencies and exhibitions in Tornio and Sweden’s Haparanda. The aim is to enable working in a residency for disabled artists and artists who are Sign Language users. We aim to organize the residencies as accessible as possible.
We are now looking for a producer.
The work will be carried out between June 1st and December 31st 2022. The employment relationship is fixed-term. The position is filled part-time, for example 50%, in which case the duration of the employment is 4 months, or shorter working hours, in which case the duration of the employment is correspondingly extended.
The producer works on the project together with the Aine Art Museum’s museum assistant. The assignment is to carry out the production of artist residencies and solo exhibitions by four artists in Tornio and Sweden’s Haparanda, during the summer and autumn of 2022. The work includes tasks related to the organization of the residencies, attending to the different needs of the artists and the production of the exhibitions. As part of the project, we will also arrange networking meetings and events related to the residencies and exhibitions. The tasks include documenting the project, which can be partly done using one’s own artistic means. The work can be tailored to the applicant's skills and interests.
The producer is supported by the staff of the Aine Art Museum. The producer can work on the premises of the Aine Art Museum. Some of the work can be done remotely.
The position requires appropriate education and/or work experience and a good knowledge of the arts and culture field. Knowledge of the field of disability and accessibility issues and/or personal experience of disability is considered an advantage. Carrying out the task requires good cooperation and interaction skills, the ability to take initiative and the ability to work systematically and independently. The applicant is required to have a good command of the Finnish language. Knowledge of other languages (Swedish, English, Sign Language, plain language) is considered an advantage. Knowledge of the Tornio and Haparanda area is beneficial.

The Aine Art Museum is a meeting place for fine art in Tornio on the Finnish-Swedish border.
