Open Call for the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture programme
Oulu2026 invites everyone to participate in the 2026 European Capital of Culture programme! The "We are Culture" open call is now open, offering the opportunity to propose your own programme as part of the celebration year and apply for targeted funding to make it happen.
The open call is available to everyone. Our goal is to enrich the Capital of Culture year by involving a diverse range of organisers, content, and venues across the entire Oulu2026 region.
The call is open now and will close on August 31, 2025 – this is a fantastic chance to contribute to making the Capital of Culture year truly unforgettable! We are also seeking for Swedish-speaking and Sámi artists proposals. Applications will be reviewed every four months.
We encourage everyone to apply. Let’s show together that culture belongs to everyone, everywhere!
Applications can be submitted via the oulu2026.eu website. You can complete the application in Finnish, English, Swedish, Northern Sámi, Inari Sámi, and Skolt Sámi. Additionally, guidelines are available on the website in easy Finnish and Finnish Sign Language.
