
Young artist competition is open for also Ukrainians, deadline 28 Feb
Art Center Salmela is looking for participants for the sixth installment of the Young Artists Competition. Aimed at promoting contemporary visual art by young creators in Finland, the competition is open for artists born 1985 or later who hold Finnish citizenship or permanently reside in Finland. This year, the competition is also open for Ukrainian nationals living in Ukraine or displaced by the war in Ukraine (who meet the age criterion).
The Young Artists Competition has emerged as a foremost visual arts competition in Finland. The prize pool for the 2023 installment is 13 500 euros. Artist Marika Mäkelä will act as the chairman of the jury. The competition has been made possible by the generous support of the municipality of Mäntyharju and the Anita and Olavi Seppänen Memorial Foundation.
Apply no later than February 28.
