The main programme of Tampere Theatre Festival has been published
The biggest theatre event of Nordic Countries, Tampere Theatre Festival, will present both Finnish and international guests on 7.–13.8.2023.
The main programme includes 19 productions this year, five of them international. In addition, the international programme includes Shadow, a film by award-winning Australian Back to Back Theatre. Shadow is darkly humorous film exploring the responsibility of an individual and the community. The leading roles are performed by actors with learning disaiblities. Over the last thirty years, Back to Back Theatre has made a body of work that questions the assumptions of what is possible in theatre, but also the assumptions we hold about ourselves and others.
The Finnish programme includes for example a performance by Porttiteatteri. Porttiteatteri is a community theatre for prisoners in the process of being released and released, as well as professional artists, founded in 2015.
