Hetta Music Days 2023 is Beyond Borders - Enontekiö 3.-9.4.2023
The theme of Hetta Music Days this year – Beyond borders – brings a Nordic flavour into our program. It opens a new co-operation between Sámi and classical music.
During this Easter week, our festival will produce first performances of co-compositions, created by three pairs consisting of a Sámi musician-composer and a classical composer. Anna Näkkäläjärvi-Länsman has two classical composer pairs: Krister Hansén and Jaime Belmonte, while Hilda Länsman composes her new yoik with Leevi Räsänen.
We will also witness debut concerts of a new trio, consisting of three young top musicians, violinist Kasmir Uusitupa, cellist Saara Särkimäki, and pianist Hannu Alasaarela. The guest ensemble of the year will be Norrbotten NEO from Sweden.
Our traditional “On the route” -concerts will commence at Muonio Church on Wednesday and finish on Saturday with a matinee at Juhls Silver Gallery, Kautokeino, Norway.
