Euro Blind Union’s new video on disabled people’s right to culture
Euro Blind Union's Parvis-project has produced an awareness-raising video on disabled people's right to culture and sports. The video is aimed at decision makers, politicians and culture and sports journalists.
The right to culture and sports is something many people take for granted, but culture and sports are rarely inclusive and accessible for blind and partially sighted people, for example. The right to culture and sports is, however, stated in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. On the video European Blind Union states that audio description and audio subtitling need to be made legal requirements.
The video has subtitles in English. Watch the video on YouTube here.
